The Skobe is a closed species that lives on Prova.

Skobe are small omnivorous mammals that live on every continent of Prova. Their bodies grow no longer than a foot in length, with a long fluffy tail as long as their body.

This species possesses a patagium, a membrane that extends from their wrist to their ankle. This allows them to glide short distances, aided by their dart-shaped tail and fluffy ears.

Adult body length varies around 12 inches, with a tail twice as long.

Skobe are phenomenally stupid creatures. They get by primarily through their explosive breeding practices. and their highly efficient metabolisms. Living in the perilous world Prova causes a death rate almost as high as the birth rate. A Skobe can die from falling off a cliff ledge and gliding into the waters below, forgetting to eat, or from picking a fight with a much larger Skobe.

They live in immense colonies of hundreds. Parents take very good care of their babies, ensuring at least a few of them will survive until adulthood.

Nothern Skobe are one of the few animals in Prova that hibernate. They gather together seeds and fruit to store body fat over the winter, where their blood temperature will drop to subzero. As the temperatures in other continents do not drop to freezing, the Skobe living there do not hibernate over winter.

Skobe are not magical by default, but magical mutations are not unheard of; oftentimes, it is represented through a colorful pattern on their tail, which they use as a conductor.

Skobe can use their sharp teeth to bite, but prefer to run away from conflict.

Skobe eat grasses, digging through the snow to scrape whatever greenery they can find. A group of Skobe sometimes will follow behind a larger predator, such as a Vostruo or Kanurs, hoping to scavenge whatever meat is left over from its kill. Skobe are capable of digesting almost any food and are extremely opportunistic scavengers.
